First we painted the background blending two colours. Next the children drew Maori inspired shapes on a piece of paper the same size. We cut out their design and traced it onto the canvases. Next we filled the shape with PVA glue before sprinkling naturally broken Coromandel shells over the glue. The next day we shook off the shells to reveal our art.
To purchase collect an envelope off my desk and and put in what you think it is worth.
Here is our large koru made for ocean broken and polished Coromandel shells.
Mrs Fong painted the background and drew the Koru. We sorted the shells by colour and size before gluing them on. We started with the whitest shells before using the yellower ones.
It is going under the hammer at the auction next Friday night: 11 September.
